Being a Michigan native, Alexandra Cooper received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies at Michigan State University prior to moving to New York to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Pace University – Lenox Hill Hospital. Alex has experience working for 2 years as a medical assistant at a dermatology practice in the Metro Detroit area working alongside many Dermatologists and Physician Assistants, and serving as first assistant to the in-house Mohs’ surgeon.
It was during Alex’s time as a medical assistant where she discovered the bridge between medicine and art that comes with dermatology and the confidence that a patient can gain with a successful dermatology appointment. She hopes to share her passion with her patients and find individualized treatments while promoting healthy skin habits. Having melanoma run in her family, she knows the importance of preventative skin cancer screenings and plans to educate her patients on how to best prevent and catch this deadly disease. Alex is dedicated to providing care to her patients as if they were family, treating each and everyone with warmth and the compassionate medical care they deserve.
On her days off, Alex enjoys walks along the West Side Highway exploring the city, cooking and discovering new restaurants, taking pilates classes and traveling. She’s excited to begin her career at The Dermatology Specialists!
