Maria Strangie, MPAS, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology. She attended Hofstra University in Long Island, where she graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Health Science. While at Hofstra, she was inducted into the Eta Sigma Gamma National Health Education Honor Society and completed several internships in the healthcare field. She earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS University). During her time at MCPHS University, she completed rigorous training in various medical specialties throughout the Boston area. She was also awarded the University’s Leadership Scholarship for her academic achievements. Maria was originally born and raised in Massachusetts.
Maria discovered her passion for skin while working as a dermatology medical assistant prior to attending Physician Assistant school. Guided by the expertise of numerous dermatologists, she has undergone extensive training in the field of dermatology. Through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SPDA), she has completed a fellowship program and remains an active member.
Maria believes in providing exceptional care to her patients. Not only is she extremely attentive to detail, but she takes the time to listen to her patients’ concerns. She understands that each person is different and deserves an individualized treatment plan. She feels that it is important to educate her patients on all of the available treatment options for a diagnosis so that they can be comfortable in making an informed decision.
Outside of medicine, Maria enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and staying active.
