Determining which filler is right for you!

Author: Dr. Bobby Buka

The choice of filler is typically made in consultation with your dermatologist.

Factors that may affect your choice include the severity of skin creases that we’re trying to correct, your overall age, what area of the face we’re trying to fill, and your comfort level with the dissolvability or the reversibility of various fillers.

Some fillers, like hyaluronic acid, can be easily reversed. For patients that are doing cosmetic fillers for the first time, they may feel more comfortable with this type of filler. Fillers that are not easily reversed, that will last for one and a half to two years, are not recommended for beginners. This is because there’s no way to dissolve them if the intended effect is not achieved.
