Is it safe to use a skin lightener between chemical peels?

Author: Dr. Bobby Buka

In short, yes, it is safe to use a skin lightener between chemical peels. Oftentimes, we’ll combine in-office therapies, like trichloroacetic acid or glycolic acid, with at-home therapies, like hydroquinone. I typically give my patients 6% hydroquinone cream to use before bed. Patients will then use the cream in conjunction with whatever other therapies they are using, such as laser or chemical peel therapies, which we would do in the office either two or four weeks apart.
