Jonathan Trager, MD, has a philosophy of treating the whole person, body and mind, not just a patient’s ailment or condition. A remarkable medical professional, Dr. Trager is the only physician in the United States who is board certified in the four specialties of pediatrics, adolescent medicine, dermatology, and pediatric dermatology. He also completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona under the direction of Integrative Medicine pioneer Dr. Andrew Weil. Dr. Trager has dedicated his career to providing comprehensive pediatric, adolescent, and young-adult primary medical and gynecologic care for patients through age 30 and dermatological care for patients of all ages.
A Bayside, New York, native, Dr. Trager received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed two residencies and a fellowship toward his quadruple board certification at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Mount Sinai Medical Center, respectively.
Along with publishing numerous medical articles, Dr. Trager taught at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, and Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. In addition to his private practice in Great Neck, Dr. Trager is on staff at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, North Shore-LIJ (Northwell Health). It’s Dr. Trager’s mission to combine his specialized knowledge of pediatrics and adolescent-young adult medicine with an understanding of the complex needs of each patient so he can offer the highest standard of health care.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Trager enjoys living in the Great Neck community, where he studies classical piano, the pipe organ, advanced music theory, and modern Greek. A science fiction enthusiast, he is an avid reader and writer.
