Thomas J. Behar, PA-C is a NCCPA board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in general and cosmetic dermatology. He is a native New Yorker having been born and raised in Staten Island. Thomas completed his undergraduate education in upstate New York at the SUNY University at Albany receiving two Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Biology and Psychology. He then went on to complete his Master in Surgical Assistant studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School having completed clinical rotations in various surgical fields with a specialty in Reconstructive and Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.
Thomas obtained his Master in Physician Assistant studies from Wagner College where he received extensive training from highly regarded hospitals and private practices throughout the New York City area. While completing his Physician Assistant degree, Thomas worked as a dermatology Medical Assistant and Mohs Surgical Assistant gaining experience from Medical Doctors and Physician Assistants with over 20 years of dermatology experience.
Thomas is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, in which he completed the rigorous SDPA Diplomate Fellowship program. Thomas also obtained months of extensive training in general and cosmetic dermatology under Dr. Choudhury, Dr. Buka, and other highly experienced TDS providers.
