Valecia Chan is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology. She grew up in New York City during the 2000s YouTube era, cultivating a lifelong curiosity for skin, hair and nails. Valecia earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems at Bentley University, and after working with healthcare clients at Deloitte Consulting, she rediscovered her passion for skin. Gaining hands-on experience as a medical assistant at The Dermatology Specialist was pivotal in reaffirming her aspiration to pursue a career in skin health. While completing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Pace University – Lenox Hill Hospital, Valecia refined her skills from compassionate patient care to gentle and aesthetic surgical techniques.
Valecia is dedicated to integrating her passion for dermatology with evidence-based science to tailor care for each patient in both medical and aesthetic dermatology. Committed to staying current with effective therapies and techniques, she regularly reviews literature and participates in clinical workshops. Valecia’s priority is to help patients feel like their best self inside and out.
When not in the clinic, you might find Valecia experimenting with skincare products, strolling NYC streets to achieve 10,000 steps per day, reading in a coffee shop, baking sourdough, trying a new recipe, or taking pictures in another country that she’ll never post!
