Botox for Hand Hyperhidrosis

Many associate Botox injections as a cosmetic face treatment but did you know that Botox can also treat hyperhidrosis of the hands? Hand hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating in the hands. Although sweating is the body’s natural way of cooling itself down, people suffering from hyperhidrosis sweat profusely, beyond regular amounts. For excessive sweating, Botox blocks the neurotransmitters that signal sweat glands to overproduce moisture. When Botox is injected into the affected areas in the hands, improvements that last six months can be seen after two weeks — the time it takes for Botox to be fully functional.
