The Nd-YAG laser is not my first choice for prominent blood vessels or capillaries on the surface of the skin. The standard laser for use in this indication is the pulsed dye laser. The YAG laser is an unusual choice for broken capillaries. We’d use the YAG typically for tattoo removal and we can also use it for brown spots, but it does not do very well with blood vessels or colors within the red spectrum.
