Fight Varicose Veins with Sclerotherapy

Author: Dr. Bobby Buka

Treatment options
The treatment of varicose veins ranges from stripping the faulty veins, to collapsing them without removal. In the past, such treatments were known to be painful and potentially cause damage; consequently, people refrained from surgery treatments, preferring to continue suffering with the condition. Misinformation such as that sclerotherapy was bad for circulation caused people to shy away from helpful therapies. Even today, the stigma of obsolete methods discourages patients from accessing the improved treatment options for varicose veins.

Sclerotherapy is safe
One such improved treatment option is sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy is a nonsurgical method involving the injection of a sugary substance called glycerin into the varicose veins; the chemical solution causes the vein to become inflammed, collapse, and finally disappear. Through the use of small needles and modern techniques that utilize lasers for tough-to-reach veins, sclerotherapy by Bobby Buka, MD is much safer and less painful than previous procedures. Side effects are minimal, include bruising and swelling, and occur in about 5% of patients.
