How Do I Fade Dark Spots?

Author: Dr. Bobby Buka

There are a few ways we can tackle a dark spot. The easiest way is by using over-the-counter products that contain a mechanical lightener known as Arbubin. If these are unsuccessful, the next pharmaceutical therapy would be hydroquinone. Hydroquinone, at a 4% to 6% concentration, can lighten dark spots without interventional or invasive techniques.

If after a month of hydroquinone you still do not see lightening of the dark spots, then we bring out the chemical peels and lasers. Typically I use the Clear+Brilliant laser or a chemical peel, more specifically the black glycolic acid peels (in the 50% to 70% range), for use on dark spots.
