Laser CO2 for Eyes

Author: Dr. Bobby Buka

For procedures around the eyes, the fractional CO2 laser is used to either improve skin tone or skin color, or to improve the texture and appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Depending on your skin type and skin tone, Dr. Buka will make modifications to ensure that the procedure will reduce or eliminate whatever skin conditions affect you. He will then apply the laser sequentially to the skin around the eyes, on the neck, and at the chest. One of the key conveniences in receiving treatment with the fractional CO2 laser is that the procedure takes no more than an hour to complete, and Dr. Buka can perform the surgery in his office under local anesthesia. If the patient feels more comfortable in a procedure room, the laser can also be used under light out-patient sedation.

After the procedure is complete, our patients return home, along with instructions from Bobby Buka, MD on how to care for the treated skin to ensure best results. Recovery from a fractional CO2 laser procedure takes between 5-7 days. During that time, our patients can expect skin to peel and stay red. Dr. Buka recommends keeping the skin clean and moist with a vaseline-style ointment when the skin is peeling. When the peeling stops, the patient can resume wearing makeup to mask the redness.
