Our flagship Greenwich Village dermatology office offers top-notch solutions for an array of dermatological conditions, from acne treatments to skin cancer screenings.
In June 2007, Dr. Bobby Buka launched the first The Dermatology Specialists New York dermatology office in the heart of Greenwich Village, where bohemian eclecticism meets sophisticated comfort. Our practice was welcomed by everyone from college students at nearby New York University to the many young professionals who live and work in the area. New Yorkers are busy, and our Greenwich Village office is a laid-back haven replete with free Wi-Fi and great #beautyjunkies swag.
We know our Greenwich Village dermatology clients are super-engaged in art and culture. That’s why, at the helm of curating the office’s interior design was Dr. Bobby himself, with his keen eye for emerging artists and 70s/80s/90s ephemera.
The Dermatology Specialists team is not only the best NYC dermatologists in the area but also true lovers of the art, culture, and lifestyle that’s available only in New York City. That love is reflected in the unique designs of all our dermatology offices, including Greenwich Village Dermatology.
When visiting our dermatologists, Greenwich Village patients enjoy an anything-but-staid vibe (no sterile hospital-room atmosphere here). The warm energy at our mahogany-floored suite of offices is more coffee shop, or indie bookstore, complete with built-in custom wood bookshelves along the walls.
Everyone on our team of professional and board-certified dermatologists puts patients first. No skincare issue is too small and no question is too trivial. Our skilled providers are leading experts in their field. We work one-on-one with patients to diagnose, treat and solve any dermatological condition – from premature aging and sun damage to eczema and rosacea.
Whether it’s matters of tween, adolescent or teenage dermatology, or adults with problem skin, The Dermatology Specialists clinicians and licensed physicians assistants work closely with each patient to successfully address skin concerns. We use cutting-edge technology, outstanding products and create effective treatments that produce excellent dermatological results.
We are proud to help New Yorkers address even their most stubborn skin concerns. We’re a “whole”-listic practice, which means we’ll use the best of Western and holistic medicine to get proven results.
One of the top complaints we hear from patients: Acne, acne and more acne. Affecting 633 million people globally, acne is the third most common disease worldwide.
The best acne treatments in New York begin here. First, our providers offer an assessment that identifies the “when and where” of flare-ups. This way, we can customize a treatment schedule that addresses both short-term improvement (controlling acute inflammation) and long-term maintenance.
Our NYC dermatologists also see a great number of patients who suffer from eczema, a condition that affects nearly 20% of children. Eczema can range in severity from a mild annoying red patch on a patient’s body to a total-body, weeping, infected rash. Our dermatologists always match the therapeutic approach, which focuses on properly hydrating the skin to calm eczema, to the severity of the condition.
Patients are thrilled with the results that our Greenwich Village dermatologists offer. At this office, Dr. Bobby and his skilled dermatology team are working with new Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments to heal the skin and slow, or even reverse, the affects of aging, like wrinkles and sagging.
The procedure works by injecting your own blood, in the form of plasma-rich platelets, into whichever area patients want to rejuvenate or repair—commonly on the face, but sometimes elsewhere too. This may sound unnerving, but it’s actually a non-invasive, straightforward process.
Platelets have amazing, restorative “clotting” power, which can help heal skin when concentrated. Because the blood comes from the patient, the body will adopt the platelets without complication. The procedure essentially mimics the body’s own healing process: no chemicals, no foreign substances, and no allergic reactions—everything health-conscious Greenwich Village dermatology patients want from their treatments.
Another service offered at our Greenwich Village (and all NYC locations) is Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing. Fractional CO2 laser treatments allow damaged skin to be replaced with healthy, new skin. It’s a great way to treat enlarged pore, acne scars and even out skin tone.
How do we maintain our reputation as the best dermatologists in NYC? By conducting cutting-edge research studies and trials. Our dedicated research team is committed to improving the quality of care for skin diseases and diagnoses such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea and more. Examining the newest and best treatments, and making them easily available to patients, ensures the optimal care that sets The Dermatology Specialists apart from other dermatology practices.
Currently, Greenwich Village Dermatology is looking for adults who have chronic moderate to severe psoriasis as well as adolescents with body and scalp plaque psoriasis to participate in two separate research studies. To learn more, visit our Clinical Trials page.
