Carlos Vieira, MD

Dr. Carlos Vieira is originally from New Jersey but has lived in Philadelphia for the past eight years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in integrative neuroscience from Fordham University in New York City. He continued his education at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, NJ where he obtained his doctorate in medicine and graduated in the top 20% of his class. After earning his medical degree, he pursued an internship in internal medicine at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA. He returned to Cooper University Hospital where he completed his residency training in dermatology and was chief resident in his final year. Dr. Vieira was awarded “Resident of the Quarter” by Cooper in 2023. 

Dr. Vieira is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and is an active committee delegate for the society. He has authored book chapters and published peer-reviewed research on a wide array of dermatologic topics. His clinical interests include inflammatory disorders like acne and rosacea, alopecia, cutaneous oncology, cosmetic procedures, regenerative medicine as well as LGBTQIA+ and gender affirming care. 

Dr. Vieira’s lighthearted, humorous attitude is matched by his commitment to personalized, holistic care for his patients. He is fluent in Portuguese and has been known to engage in passionate discussion about the best way to make bacalhau. When he is not at work, Dr. Vieira is learning hip-hop and street jazz choreography or enjoying the wonderful food scene Philly has to offer.
